Job Description:
We are currently seeking experienced and skilled Heavy Machinery Diesel Motor Mechanics to join our team. The ideal candidate will have specialised expertise in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling diesel engines used in piling rigs and cranes. This role is critical to ensuring our machinery operates efficiently and reliably across various job sites.
Experience and Qualities:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel motor mechanic
- Hands-on experience with drill rigs, cranes, and excavators is essential
- On-site welding experience is highly regarded
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow tasks through to completion
Daily Duties Include:
- Performing scheduled maintenance and inspections on piling rigs and cranes
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Maintaining, testing, and repairing diesel motors and mechanical parts of heavy machinery such as piling rigs, cranes, trucks, and other equipment
- Repairing or replacing defective parts and components
- Testing machinery to ensure correct operation after repairs
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, including tool and equipment storage
- Conducting onsite welding and heavy equipment repairs
- Preparing detailed reports of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Liaising with site supervisors and operators regarding machinery issues
- Responding to breakdowns, preparing equipment for shutdowns, and conducting conveyor maintenance
- Monitoring machinery performance and recommending improvements or upgrades
- Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
- Assisting in the training and development of junior mechanics and other staff
