This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established head contractor as they open a brand-new office on the Gold Coast. Known for delivering detailed, design-driven commercial, hospitality, and education projects across QLD and NSW, this builder is now forming a close-knit local team—and they’re looking for a Project Engineer to play a key role in delivering their first Gold Coast projects from the ground up.You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to coordinate and drive project delivery, with a genuine pathway to Project Management as the business grows. This is the perfect role for an experienced engineer ready to step up and take more ownership across live sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers in end-to-end project delivery across multiple sites
- Manage and track project programs, budgets, procurement and subcontractor packages
- Coordinate site activities with Site Managers to ensure smooth day-to-day delivery
- Handle RFIs, variations, subcontractor scopes and project reporting
- Monitor site progress, help solve issues in real time, and drive quality and safety outcomes
- Assist in client and consultant management, ensuring key milestones are achieved
- Take ownership of documentation, scheduling, and financial tracking
- Contribute to pre-construction planning, site establishment and project handover
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or similar with a head contractor
- Solid understanding of construction programs, budgets, procurement and site coordination
- Strong communicator, confident managing subcontractors and working with site teams
- Proactive, detail-focused and passionate about delivering high-quality projects
- Looking to build a long-term career with growth into Project Management
