About the team
Our Fabrications team are a dedicated group of trade-qualified technicians who take pride in repairing and creating components for the City's fleet and metal assets. With a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency, our team plays a vital role in supporting many departments of the City of Gold Coast.
About your new role
As a Fitter and Turner (internally referred to as Mechanical Engineering Technician) with an expertise in Machining, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills in repairing and machining a diverse range of components and parts for the City’s fleet, structures and miscellaneous equipment -inclusive of playground through to civil elements. This is a hands-on role requiring an eye for detail, where your skills and knowledge gained through an Engineering Mechanical Trade or related trade will be put to the test.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about their trade and have the following skills and qualifications:
- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Machining), or an equivalent/associated trade
- Experience of operating workshop machines inclusive of lathes, milling machines, presses, standard drills and grinding machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- A self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A responsible attitude towards safety, work organisation and quality control
