Based in Sydney, you will be delivering strategic financial advice to support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with AASB/IFRS standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses to guide clinic-level and group-wide financial planning.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the end-to-end AP/AR processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, supplier payments and reconciliation.
- External Payroll Management: Liaise with external payroll consultants to ensure accurate, compliant and timely payroll processing and reporting.
- Tax & Compliance: Manage GST/BAS lodgments, FBT returns, payroll tax, and coordinate year-end audit and tax filings with external advisors.
- Cash Flow and Treasury: Monitor cash flow projections, optimise working capital and manage banking relationships.
- Financial Analysis & Modelling: Build financial models to assess new service lines, capital investments, and growth opportunities.
- Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Mentor and develop a small finance team; partner with clinical managers and the Executive team to drive data-led decisions.
- Systems and Controls: Maintain and optimise our Xero accounting platform, uphold strong SOX-style controls, continuously improve processes, and lead any additional system enhancements.
Requirements
- Qualifications: CA/CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification; bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in a senior accounting or finance management role, ideally within healthcare, professional services or multi-entity operations.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Australian accounting standards (AASB/IFRS)
- Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, modelling)
- Experience with ERP/accounting software (Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, etc.)
