The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join the WA Customer Services Team as an Import Customer Services Officer. This a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start, or continue, their career in shipping.
The primary task and responsibilities for this position:

Handling customer enquiries
-
Issuing import and export documentation as required at the front counter
-
Collating export bills of lading and import delivery charges
-
Completing all reports for import vessels prior to arrival
-
Releasing of EDO’s to clients within a timely manner for all import shipments
-
Following up with clients for any and all issues relating to vessels
-
Maintaining meticulous client files and records
-
Liaising with overseas agents to ensure all system and Bills of Lading are correctly manifested

Liaising with internal departments to ensure any client query is followed up to conclusion

Reviewing import and freight issues with customers

Receipting client cheques
-
Monitoring client credit limits their adherence to credit terms and assisting with recovery action
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the following skills:
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Great organisational and time management skills
-
Experience with Microsoft Office is essential (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Shipping experience is highly regarded, although not essential
-
Ability to organise and prioritise, including the ability to work to deadlines

Our Office
You will be working in our beautiful and modern office in the heart of Fremantle. The office is a restored heritage building near the historic Round House. With fully equipped change facilities, automated coffee machines, a wellness room, and ergonomic office furniture with electric sit stand desks, working in this office is a pleasure!
