Asphaltech is a growing leading civil construction company specialising in the production and placement of asphalt throughout Australia. With over 30 years industry experience, we are known for producing high quality asphalt and some of the most innovative products in the Australian market.

The Position

Asphaltech have an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent HSEQ Administrator / Officer to join the team and work at our asphalt plant in Malaga.

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and interested in a career in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality. This position would suit an experienced administrator with exposure to HSEQ who is wanting to take the next step in their career.

Primary Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the HSEQ Manager to ensure compliance with work health and safety guidelines.

  • Supporting and maintaining a working environment that provides for the health, safety and wellbeing of all employees, contractors and visitors.

  • Promote a positive safety culture guiding employees to continuous improvement.

  • Assist with ongoing safety training, awareness and information sessions to site personnel (toolbox, prestart, onsite information sessions).

  • Adopt a zero tolerance to work practices and equipment that may be unsafe or have a serious, adverse, safety or environmental impact.

  • Visit Asphaltech sites to monitor risk and controls, identify areas for improvement and report to the HSEQ Manager.

Preferred Experience & Skills

To be successful in this position you should have:

  • A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or be willing to complete whilst working.

  • Have a strong interest in a career in HSEQ.

  • Knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, risk management and behavioural safety.

  • A Construction Induction Card.

  • A current C Class Drivers’ License.

  • A First Aid Certificate will be highly regarded.

  • Any asphalt or civil industry experience will be highly regarded.

  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Completion of year 10 or above.

  • Be able to use Microsoft Office.

  • Be self-motivated.

Commencement Date

Immediate commencement available.
