Field Supervisor
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Field Supervisor based at our South Metro Depot.
As a Field Supervisor for Construction and Primary Plant, you will be responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of field crews while ensuring all assigned work is completed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all field crews are trained in compliance with Western Power safety guidelines
Your Role in Action
- Allocate project works to teams, ensuring that the workload is appropriately distributed between team members to avoid unnecessary overtime
- Allocate maintenance works to teams, ensuring that the workload is appropriately managed and delivered safe and efficient.
- Assist with the creation and delivery of regular team safety meetings
- Participate in project planning/scheduling meetings
- Ensure work of crews is delivered on time and consistent with organisational policies and standards
- Conduct on-site inspections and quality assurance tasks to ensure that work undertaken by your teams is consistent with organisation policies and standards
- Understand and operate within Western Power’s Occupational Health and Safety systems by reporting including duty of care responsibilities, identifying hazards, taking corrective action, and reporting and investigating all incidents/accidents
- Maintain knowledge of work standards, procedures, and network systems to ensure work is consistently completed to standard.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Trade qualified - Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Certificate III. (Australian Qualified or endorsed)
- Trade Certificate or Distribution / Transmission Overhead or Certificate III Distribution Cable Jointer or equivalent (Australian Qualified or endorsed)
- Preferably 6+ years demonstrated experience in the networks or transmission/distribution industry, including appropriate licenses or certificates of competency
- Prior experience in a team supervision / coordination position
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation and execution of operation plans
- A sound knowledge of networks construction maintenance and operations field practices
- Accident investigation skills
- Highly developed teamwork and customer focus skills
- Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and managing public and stakeholder relations
- Computer literate: Ellipse, MS Office suite -Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Advanced written, verbal and report writing skills
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
