About the Opportunity:
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 189-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.
We are currently looking for a Theatre Coordinator to join the team. This role is operational and is responsible for the overall coordination of the Operating Theatres on a daily basis. The Theatre Coordinator will work in conjunction with the Nurse Unit Managers to ensure continuity of staffing and delivering of service. Our Theatre Coordinators work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team to maintain a customer-focused approach to nursing across the continuum of care.

Things that work for us:

Registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a Registered Nurse
-
Minimum of 3 years in the operating suite, ideally in a coordinating role
-
Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members
-
Ability to provide clinical practice and care consistent with the mission and philosophy of the facility
-
Ability to plan and coordinate patient care effectively, maintain patient advocacy and utilise patient management systems
-
Have a working knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations, legislation and ACORN Standards
-
Demonstrated application of contemporary infection control standards and practices
-
Ability to respond to emergency situations and possess recent relevant emergency training or willing to undertake relevant training (ALS & PALS)

Ability to lead, coach and support clinical teams to optimise customer and organisational outcomes
