About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by enabling the City of Hobart to fulfil its statutory requirements in relation to land use planning as part of a team of planners and development engineers.

Role accountabilities include:

  • Assess planning applications and draft reports for senior planners and committees.
  • Represent the City at appeals, prepare evidence, and coordinate expert witnesses.
  • Advise the Development Compliance Unit on planning control enforcement.
  • Assist in reviewing procedures and operational systems.
  • Provide land use and development advice to the public, applicants, and developers.

About you

We are looking for a motivated individual with a bachelor's degree (or higher) and relevant experience to qualify as a Full Member of the Planning Institute of Australia, along with at least 3 years of professional experience.

If you have a can-do attitude, enjoy working in a friendly team environment, and excel in high-volume work settings with great attention to detail, this role is perfect for you!
