The role:

Tassal is looking for a dependable and hardworking Casual Processing Attendant to join our team at the Triabunna rendering plant. Located on Tasmania’s picturesque East Coast, this role offers the chance to work in a hands-on environment where you’ll contribute to processing salmon by-products, maintaining equipment, and supporting efficient plant operations. Your responsibilities will include quality checks, pressure washing, and general processing tasks, all while working within a safety-focused team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the processing of salmon by-products, ensuring efficiency and quality standards.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks, including pressure washing and equipment maintenance.
  • Conduct quality checks and follow strict hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Operate machinery and assist with general plant operations as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet daily production targets.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.



Role requirements:

  • Team player with strong communication and a positive attitude.
  • Forklift license (or willingness to obtain one) – training can be provided.
  • Valid driver’s licence (for reliable travel to and from work).
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn – no prior experience required, full training provided.
  • Previous experience in aquaculture, manufacturing, or labouring (desirable but not essential).
  • Full working rights in Australia.
