Job Title: Disability Support Worker
Reports To: Service Manager / Director

Award Classification: SCHADS Award (depending on experience and duties)
Position Summary:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants to promote independence, dignity, choice, and inclusion in the community. You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and social engagement, in line with individual support plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver care and support aligned with participants’ NDIS goals and care plans.
- Provide personal care including showering, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist with domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and shopping.
- Support with community participation, recreational activities, and transport.
- Administer or assist with medication in accordance with training and care plans.
- Accurately document progress notes, incident reports, and any changes in participant condition.
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and uphold participant rights at all times.
- Follow behaviour support strategies and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, health professionals, and family members.
Key Requirements:
- Availability for sleepover shifts essential
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or equivalent.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (if applicable).
- Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination proof (as per industry standards).
- Understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
Desirable (but not mandatory):
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs (e.g., mental health, high intensity, behaviours of concern).
- Manual Handling and Medication Administration training.
- PEG feeding, hoist use, or epilepsy management skills.

Pay: $33.00 – $45.00 per hour
