Your new company
Hays Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Business and Governance Manager to join a government department in Perth CBD immediately. For this opportunity we are seeking an experienced candidate who is available to start immediately following a successful interview, working full-time hours on a 3-month temporary contract.

Your new role

Manages, monitors and reports on the unit's budget and relevant project budgets. Manages and monitors invoicing and other financial processes for the unit, establishing clear plans and timeframes to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Leads the development of Business Cases, Memos, Briefing Notes and Budget Submissions Ensure contracts and reports are compliant with public sector legislation, regulations and guidelines Provides high-level advice to the Directors on governance and compliance, identifying any risks and taking appropriate action to resolve them. Support the wider team in ordering office stationery supplies and managing orders Works with the Directors, Deputy Directors and Project Managers to drive the development, presentation and oversight of the unit's budget and relevant project budgets in line with best practice.

What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role you will have:

• Previous experience in a similar role as business or practice manager
• Previous public sector experience
• Advanced skill set with managing finances, budgets and invoices
• Advanced IT skills with confidence in using Excel and Oracle, ideally with exposure in raising purchase orders via. Oracle systems
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and strong communication
• The ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced, changing environment
