Monkami is currently seeking skilled and qualified professionals to join its team of Disability Support Workers in both, it's Day Services setting, as well as residential in Specialist Disability Accommodation . You will be providing support to participant and/or residents within the Croydon area. Monkami offers both Specialist Disability Accommodation and Centre Based Services. Our Centre Based and Group Supports are progressive and focused towards the achievement of individual goals and aspirations.

Available roster lines:

Monkami's Specialist Disability Accommodation service operates in a shift work roster and includes day shifts, afternoon shifts, sleepovers and varied weekend work. We are specifically looking for Casual workers to take available shifts in our Day Service and/or Residential setting.

Please note that these roles will commence in August 2025 only. Interviews will be scheduled throughout the month of July.

In this role you will:

  • Support people with disabilities to live as independently as possible and to achieve their personal goals;

  • Support people with their daily routines, including the provision of personal care, living skills and general support;

  • Encourage and support people to participate in decision-making about the services they receive;

  • Implement plans that provide meaningful activities of the participants choice, interest and ability; and

  • Create a positive home environment for all residents promoting both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Required skills and experiences:

  • A commitment to human rights principles;

  • Understanding of NDIS Act 2013 and related legislation and quality frameworks;

  • Experience with person centered planning, behavior support and medication administration;

  • Ability to engage clients in a collaborative, positive and respectful manner;

  • Experience in supporting people to meet their personal goals, with an emphasis on supporting people with an intellectual disability;

  • Experience in working with behaviors of concern and developing strategies to gain the best outcomes for all;

  • Experience in providing personal care support;

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with staff, families and other professionals;

  • Ability to build and manage relationships, and to work within a team environment;

  • Creative and critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills;

  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines; and

  • Proficiency with computer applications

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Minimum qualification of Certificate IV Disability;

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in providing support services to people with a disability within a residential setting;

  • Current First Aid Level HLTAID011 certification;

  • Current CPR HLTAID009 certification;

  • Full Victorian Driver Licence;

  • Full Working rights in Australia with no restrictions

  • International Police Check (where required) and current within 3 months of report issue date

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance;

  • NDIS Worker Orientation module.

Compliance

Monkami operates a stringent safety screening process for preferred candidates that will require two satisfactory professional references, an identity check, satisfactory national and international (*where required) criminal history check, an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and completion of NDIS Worker Orientation certificate.

Candidates must have the right to work in Australia.
