About the Position

Flinders University’s College of Education, Psychology and Social Work is seeking a strategic, people-focused leader to join us as the Dean (People and Resources). This senior position is responsible for the development and management of the College’s academic staff, aligning workforce capability with the University’s vision and values.

The successful candidate will also:

Lead the development and implementation of academic staffing plans, development, performance management, and related matters. Drive staff attraction and retention initiatives to ensure optimal workforce capability and configuration. Oversee academic workload planning and the effective allocation of space and other resources.

This position is open to international candidates and relocation and visa support is available.

About You

You are a dynamic and experienced academic leader with a proven ability to shape strategy, drive performance, and lead with integrity in a complex higher education environment. With a strong foundation in people and resource management, you bring a deep understanding of academic life and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and innovation.

Additionally, the Dean (People and Resources) will have:

A PhD or equivalent qualification. A strong academic track record aligned with the University’s vision. Proven strategic, organisational, and change management skills. Sound knowledge of employee and industrial relations legislation and processes.
