Join Our Team as a Senior Library Officer!
The City of Karratha is seeking a dedicated Senior Library Officer to assist in delivering high-quality library services across our multiple locations. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative library programs and technology initiatives.
About the Role:As a Senior Library Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our libraries by supporting staff, maintaining consistency in service delivery, and enhancing the library experience for the community. You will assist with day-to-day operations, provide technical and customer service support, and contribute to innovative online and electronic resources. This position will work across the Karratha, Dampier, Wickham and Roebourne libraries and will include weekend and evening shifts.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in the delivery of library services, programs, and online resources.Provide outstanding customer service and support library staff across all locations.Help develop and implement technology programs and eServices for library patrons.Perform general library duties, including shelving, stock management, and maintaining a welcoming library environment.Support and train staff in the use of library IT systems and online resources.Assist in resolving customer inquiries and troubleshooting library-related issues.Work collaboratively with senior library staff to enhance library services and community engagement.
About You: We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a team environment and enjoys working with the community. The ideal candidate will have:Excellent customer service and communication skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Experience in a library or customer service setting (desirable).Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Library Management Systems (desirable).A Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.A current C-class driver’s license.
