The RoleWe are seeking a Proficient Level Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team of dedicated professionals. You will play a key role in supporting NDIS participants through functional behavioural assessments and the development of comprehensive behaviour support plans.Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the individual's needs, strengths, and behaviour patternsDevelop and implement tailored positive behaviour support plans in collaboration with the individual, their family, and the support teamProvide training and mentoring to support workers to ensure consistent implementation of behaviour support strategiesMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support plans, making adjustments as neededCollaborate with other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists) to ensure a holistic approach to supportMaintain detailed case notes and contribute to the organisation's continuous improvement processes Key responsibilities include:Completing functional behaviour assessments (FBA)Developing and reviewing NDIS-compliant behaviour support plans (BSPs)Collaborating with participants, families, and support teams to implement positive strategiesSupporting the reduction of restrictive practices in line with best-practiceWorking with a values-led team committed to high-quality, person-centred services
About YouYou are a skilled, compassionate clinician who wants to work with autonomy while being supported by a high-performing, inclusive team.
You’ll need:To hold an NDIS Practitioner ID, NDIS Workers Screening Check, and Working with Children Check.Demonstrate a strong understanding of the principles of positive behaviour support and the ability to apply them in practiceExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with various stakeholdersDemonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address complex behavioural challengesCommitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with complex needs
Relevant qualifications in Disability, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or related fieldNDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration at Proficient level (or working towards)Strong report writing and interpersonal communication skillsExperience in working with people with disability and complex needsCurrent driver’s licence and access to reliable transport
