About the role

We’re on the lookout for a sharp, strategic thinker to join our Investment team as a Portfolio Manager – Trading. In this high-impact role, you’ll execute trades across multiple asset classes in domestic and international markets, shape trading strategies, and manage high-value portfolios—all while helping our members make the most of their money.
Day to day, you'll:
- Execute trades across global markets within approved limits and permitted securities.
- Shape and implement trading strategies that drive performance and align with investment objectives.
- Manage investment mandates and exposures to ensure alignment with fund goals.
- Work within the International Trading Desk team, following a designated shift schedule.
- Deliver performance updates and insights to stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and negotiate with external partners to secure optimal outcomes.
- Stay ahead of market trends by networking with industry players and representing ART at key events.
- Lead research, analysis, and reporting to support informed investment decisions.
This role is a permanent opportunity.
Location: Brisbane or Sydney.
About you
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You hold tertiary qualifications in finance, investments, commerce, or economics.
- You meet (or are willing to complete) ASIC RG146 requirements.
- You bring extensive experience in securities trading and investment management.
- You’re across legislation, regulations, market trends, and risk-reward optimisation.
- You’ve got strong analytical skills and use data to drive strategic thinking.
- You’re a clear communicator, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.
- You understand valuation principles and have experience reviewing legal documents.
- You’re great at juggling competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
