Overview:
The Principal Project Officer Lived Experience is responsible for embedding the lived experience and human rights perspectives in the strategic work of Mental Health Strategy & Planning, including mental health initiatives and projects related to services and policy development.
- The Principal Project Officer - Lived Experience will provide high-level strategic policy advice and undertake and deliver complex project outcomes, related to lived experience and human rights.
- The Principal Lived Experience and Human Rights Advisor is responsible for leading the engagement strategy of the Mental Health Strategy & Planning Branch to facilitate the input of people with personal (consumer) and/or support (carer) experience of mental health care and support into the practices, policies, planning and delivery of mental health services in South Australia.
- The Principal Project Officer - Lived Experience brings with her/him/non-binary, their own lived experience as a person with personal (consumer) and/or support (carer) experience of mental health care and support services. It is recognised that people with 'lived' experience can include people with 'living' (current) experience.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.

Criminal History Screening Requirement
- A 'National Police Certificate' NPC (also known as a 'Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check' NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)
- A DHS 'Working With Children Check' (WWCC) is required for this position.
Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
