Role Details
The Senior Cabinet Officer is responsible for the effective and efficient administration of the South Australian Cabinet system and the provision of high level policy advice and analysis. The role provides expert advice and quality control on government processes and policy proposals at the highest level, to ensure the effective operation of the executive arm of government. The Senior Cabinet Officer gives direction to staff in the Premier’s Office, Ministerial Offices and across all state government agencies on the preparation of documents for Cabinet. The Senior Cabinet Officer also prepares policy advice to support Cabinet’s deliberations and prepares official instruments for Cabinet. The nature of the work is highly specialised and requires accuracy, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and both process and analytical thinking.
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours may be required.
- Offsite Cabinet meetings and other meetings may necessitate intra-state travel with overnight stays in regional centres.
- This role requires a National Criminal History check.
- May be required to participate in State Crisis Centre during exercises and incidents.
Essential Qualifications
- Current driver's license and a willingness to drive, especially in the country.
