On behalf of our client, we are advertising. Sirrom Corporation )is a leading provider in hospitality services to the resource and construction sector. Established in 2013, we have a presence in multiple remote locations throughout Australia. We have a small number of opportunities for experienced and passionate Cooks to join our kitchen team on our remote mine site village operations location in the Goldfields regions of remote WA
If you have proven bulk cooking experience, have fly in fly out (FIFO) experience and can work well under pressure in a medium size kitchen, we would love to hear from you
The Cook position is a hands-on role due to the size and nature of this business unit. The Cook is responsible in assisting the Chefs to prepare and present high quality meal service to pre-set formal operating standards with a high focus on professional, friendly interaction with both guests and staff.
Tasks/activities for the role:
- Preparation according to defined recipes
- Maintain food preparation and storage areas in a clean and hygienic fashion
- Carry out work safely to both company and statutory standards
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is working correctly, safely and is properly maintained
- Ensure proper grooming and hygiene
- Ensure the Sirrom Food Safety Plan is followed and verify all forms and records pertaining to this are filled in correctly
- Complete, follow and maintain all company Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environmental Management systems.
- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
- Interact professionally and pleasantly with staff and guests.
- Work with other Chefs and Kitchen hands in a pleasant and supportive way.
- Prepare food economically and with minimal wastage.
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of the food service.
- Consumable ordering activities as required.
- Stocktake activities as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Cert III Cook - Or relevant Trade qualification – (essential)
- Minimum 2 years previous experience as Cook
- Exceptional communication and relationship building abilities at all levels, developed team member principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound Knowledge of HACCP Food Safety Systems
– high standards in food storage and preparation methods
- High attention to detail
- Developed time management skills
- Valid current Driver’s Licence
