Job Description

An excellent secondment opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager - Strategy and Projects within the School Finance team.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Finance Manager – Strategy and Projects for a 12-month secondment to lead a range of strategic finance initiatives within the School Finance Team, part of the FID Directorate.

Reporting to the General Manager, School Finance, the successful candidate will:

  • Play an active role in designing the School Finance Team’s operating model to enhance support for schools, with a strong focus on improving service delivery and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment across teams and maintain strategic consistency.
  • Make significant contributions to the development of the school finance strategy, supporting long-term financial sustainability.
  • Be an integral part of a team that is shaping the future of school finance operations and contributing to broader organisational success through strategic insights and leadership in key school finance projects.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Educational Background: CA/CPA qualified
  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior finance role with demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial models and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with senior MACS stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.

Other considerations:

The Senior Finance Manager, Strategy and Projects, will be based in the main office with occasional travel to regional schools as required. The role demands a high level of dedication and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
