About the Role
Are you ready to shape the strategic direction of learning and teaching in a dynamic, future-focused university? Swinburne is seeking a dynamic leader to join us as our Director, Education Quality – a pivotal role driving enhanced student outcomes, continuous improvement culture, educational innovation, and regulatory excellence across the institution.
In this senior leadership position, you’ll be responsible for the development of robust quality assurance frameworks, the co-creation of new program and course review processes, and ensure alignment with TEQSA, ESOS, and other accreditation standards. You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior academic leadership, guiding policy, strategy, and innovation in curriculum design and delivery.
We’re looking for someone with deep expertise in higher education quality improvement processes, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to translate sector trends into strategic opportunities. About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in developing and leading institution-wide education quality strategies that align with educational, regulatory, and institutional priorities in a complex higher education environment.
- Strong understanding of national and international quality assurance frameworks (e.g., TEQSA, ESOS, AQF), with the ability to align compliance with broader strategic outcomes and institutional performance goals.
- Demonstrated experience leading education quality assurance, internal reviews, and regulatory engagement in a higher education setting.
- Proven ability to coordinate large-scale academic reviews, curriculum mapping, and accreditation support processes.
- Proven ability to interpret and respond to external trends, regulatory changes, and emerging challenges in the higher education sector, translating these into strategic actions and opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications in education, quality assurance, or a related field, with extensive experience in higher education.
