Job Title: Head Chef – Mediterranean/Italian Fusion Restaurant

Location: Black Rock, Victoria

We celebrate authentic, seasonal ingredients and warm hospitality, creating a welcoming space where guests can enjoy the best of both culinary worlds.

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and bring our Mediterranean/Italian-Australian fusion menu to life. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mediterranean/Italian cuisine, creativity in blending flavours, and a commitment to quality and authenticity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, refine, and execute a menu that highlights fresh, seasonal ingredients with a Mediterranean and Australian fusion focus

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

  • Manage kitchen operations including inventory, ordering, and food safety compliance

  • Collaborate with management to create a memorable dining experience that reflects the restaurant’s story and vision

  • Ensure efficient kitchen workflow while maintaining a positive and professional work environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef, preferably with Mediterranean/Italian or Australian cuisine

  • Responsibility of recipe development and BOH procedures. You run your kitchen!

  • Strong culinary skills and creativity in menu development

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen management

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Passion for delivering authentic, high-quality dishes that celebrate cultural heritage and innovation
