Our large NSW State Government client delivers insurance and care services to the community of NSW. Whether a person is severely injured in the workplace or on our roads, they support their long-term care needs to improve quality of life outcomes, including helping people return to work.
About the Role
They are currently seeking a highly experienced Assurance Analyst to join their team in Sydney CBD with some flexibility to work a few days from home per week. This is an estimated 6month assignment, with a strong potential to extend.

Supporting the General Manager, Assurance and Fraud Prevention and the Head of Assurance, you will be required to provide monitoring and evidence-based assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of the enterprise Risk and Compliance Management Frameworks and other enterprise policies. You will assist in implementing assurance program for monitoring, testing and reporting on the control framework supporting organisational risk and compliance obligations. You will also be responsible for assisting the business to identify improvement actions and strategies to strengthen risk and compliance controls.
Responsibilities

  • Support the effective implementation of enterprise-wide compliance management framework and risk management framework
  • Deliver a systemic and thorough assurance program
  • Conduct key control testing and reporting on design and effectiveness of control framework
  • Identify key controls and implement testing plans to identify control gaps
  • Support Head of Assurance to provide other assurance activities including quality assurance over Line 1 Control Self-Assessment testing and annual attestations
  • Undertake risk-based deep dives on high-risk areas to assess the strength of the control framework
  • Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships facilitating engagement, collaboration and contribution of ideas
  • Influence, inspire and foster a compliance culture
  • Ensure compliance with Departmental policies and procedures

About You
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Independent, proactive and self sufficient with the ability to work autonomously and part of a team when required
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office suite
  • High attention to detail
  • Solid analytical, investigative and problem solving skills

Requirements
  • Demonstrated Assurance Analyst experience
  • Proven experience conducting assessments over risk and compliance
  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Compliance or Risk Frameworks
  • Proficient in assurance testing or auditing controls
  • Experience in internal audits, first or second line assurance function
  • Thorough understanding of financial services industry or government entities
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
  • Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
