About The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to be part of the Brighter Beginnings Health and Development Checks team in South Western Sydney Local Health District. We are seeking a dedicated allied health Clinical Educator to join our team working 2 days per week (16 hours per week).
As an allied health Clinical Educator (Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist) you will have the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team providing health and developmental screening in early education settings and providing assessment, intervention and capacity building and direct care pathways for children in SWSLHD.

What You'll Be Doing
The clinical educator is responsible for the coordination of allied health placements offered in the Brighter Beginnings Health and Development Checks program and liaising with relevant universities. The position involves direct supervision of students as well as providing support, resources and education to multidisciplinary staff in the department who are supervising students. The Clinical Educator also carries a clinical caseload in the Brighter Beginnings program.
They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement activities, participation in service development and other administrative responsibilities as required.

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.
These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.
With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

Must hold an accredited qualification in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology. Either professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (where required) or eligibility for membership with professional body (where applicable). Extensive post graduate clinical experience demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and skills in the provision of Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy services to paediatric clients with complex and diverse needs, preferably in a community setting.Demonstrated experience in providing clinical leadership, supervision and education for staff.Demonstrated experience providing supervision and education to students including demonstrated application of adult learning principles.Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective internal and external partnershipsDemonstrated experience in providing consultation and education to colleagues and external parties that adheres to EBP principles.Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable and/or at risk communities ensuring the provision of client/family centred care.Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use multidisciplinary teamwork and to collaborate with other services/organisations relevant to case management and service delivery.Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
