The Chief Financial Officer is a core strategic leadership position in an organisation that is at an exciting time in its transformation - building on its footprint across CQID.

Exciting things are happening with the expansion of the organisation and funding growth spaces, significant investment in Lanyon, and planning for the redevelopment of Canberra Theatre Centre along with organisational business development from the CFC’s new Strategic Plan.

In your leadership, you will work closely with the GM’s, PDM and directly to the CEO. You will provide experienced strategic leadership in the areas of financial management and development (as CFO) and the development, oversight and modernisation of the infrastructure, systems and capability of payroll and accounts payable and receivable and manage a small finance team of payroll officer and finance manager.

You will bring excellence in executive and change management skills, an ability to lead, inspire and transform an organisation that is embarking on a significant period of growth and modernisation. You will combine commercial acumen, financial management skills with your experience in working across Human Services, NFP or Government and, preferably, a CPA certification and Accounting Qualifications.

You will ensure strategic performance targets are achieved as per the Agreement with Department and funders. Specifically, you will provide strategic leadership for the financial services components of the CQID strategy development and implementation in line with the overall strategic plan, participating in its development and implementation across the all programs and services.

You will also provide high level leadership in financial management services to the program across the.

This will include regular reporting to key stakeholders including the board and ensuring compliance with financial regulatory obligations. You will develop effective strategies for managing financial performance, monitoring, reporting and analysis, as well as undertaking effective budget development, control and forecasting.
