Position Purpose

This position is responsible for the manufacturing and related functions, quality assurance, goods inwards and outwards and packaging of Tailor-Made Foods. Tailor-Made Foods is behind one of Australia’s fastest-growing potato chip brands — Chappy’s Chips. Proudly handcrafted and much loved across select states.

Key Accountabilities

The Assistant Production Manager role will work closely with the CEO to lead the production team by utilizing experience, competence, style and appropriate behavior, communicating strategy into operational effectiveness, production improvements

  • Manage production team of 7 employees
  • Determining, implementing and monitoring Tailor-Made Foods production plans
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant contractual regulatory and legislative requirements as a minimum standard.
  • Ensure that the relevant HACCP standards are maintained and any audit corrective actions are closed out.
  • Controlling the operation of production plant through production planning.
  • Ensure safe work practices are established and maintained across the plant, and that continue to strive for proactive safety awareness. Ensure machinery safety guards are in place across all machinery and reviewed as per WorkSafe Victoria requirements.
  • Manage supply chain functions within the plant to deliver on the agreed industrial performance and budgeted profitability by managing production and transportation costs efficiently
  • Manage the planning, ordering and delivery of inward and outward goods.
  • Provide CEO updates of Chappy’s snacks foods production plans, ensuring production targets are met and any variations are rectified
  • Ensure that employees are assisted to develop their skills and abilities through the appraisal of job performance, encouragement, delegation and formal training programs and Individual Development Plans.

Formal Education

 Tertiary qualifications, Advanced Diploma a minimum, preferably in business or manufacturing.

 At least 2 years of relevant working experience in food production

Essential Skills and Knowledge

 Managing a food production team

 Good Communication skills

 Experience in manufacturing and packaging of potato based snack foods preferred

 Mechanical aptitude and experience with food production machinery would be beneficial

 Experience of quality and compliance regulations

 Experience in industrial quality management

 Good understanding of food technology

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
