Are you a senior finance leader ready to take the reins of a high-impact role that blends strategic oversight with hands-on delivery?We are partnering with a highly regarded South Australian real estate business to appoint a Senior Finance Manager . This is a critical leadership role with full responsibility for the finance function ideal for someone who thrives in an independent, trusted position and brings a commercial lens to day-to-day operations.
You will work directly with the Principal to provide strategic financial advice while ensuring rigorous oversight of all compliance, payroll, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
The Opportunity
- Senior-level role with broad operational scope and leadership accountability
- Direct line to the Principal and trusted advisor to the business
- Autonomy to lead, modernise and elevate finance and administration functions
- Opportunity to shape business operations, implement cloud-based systems, and drive efficiency gains
- Lead all financial operations including reporting, forecasting, compliance, and controls
- Oversee Xero-based accounting , supported by an administration assistant for data entry
- Ensure timely and accurate lodgement of BAS, RTWSA, Payroll Tax, and superannuation
- Manage end-to-end payroll including sales commission structures
- Present monthly management reports and strategic insights to the Principal
- Lead business insurance renewal processes and ensure documentation compliance
- Provide oversight to the administration team and support Sales Trust functions (non-transactional)
- Support HR and operations with onboarding, contracts, and policy compliance
- Collaborate with external accountants and key business stakeholders
- Senior finance professional with broad commercial acumen and operational maturity
- Demonstrated experience in a Finance Manager , Financial Controller , or equivalent leadership role
- Deep knowledge of payroll, statutory compliance, and financial reporting
- Proven experience with Xero in a commercial setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
- High level of initiative, reliability, and strategic thinking
- Degree-qualified in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline
- CPA/CA qualification desirable but not essential
- Experience in real estate, property, or professional services highly regarded
- Track record of leading system upgrades or process improvement projects
