Chandler Personnel is looking for motivated, hard-working General farm hands for our fast-paced nursery based in Pakenham Vic. Our client is a leading global berry brand.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planting and Harvesting activities.
Carrying out general farm work
Labeling, pruning, staking, fertilizing and weeding plants
Monday - Friday 7:30am- 3:30pm
Occasional work on weekends as well
Pay rate - 29
Skills and Experience Required:
MUST have their own transport
Knowledge: A basic understanding of plant biology, horticulture, and gardening techniques is essential.
Physical Fitness: The ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of standing or kneeling.
Attention to Detail: Careful observation and attention to detail are necessary for identifying and addressing plant health issues.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Math Skills: Proficiency in basic math for tasks such as measuring and calculating plant quantities and pricing.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing weather conditions and seasonal demands.
Resilience: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
Attention to Safety: Commitment to following safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Environmental Awareness: Understanding of sustainable gardening practices and environmental conservation principles.
Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime during busy seasons
