A key focus of the coming years will be working with the State and Federal Governments to establish Melbourne Airport Rail; to complete redevelopment of Sunshine and Albion Stations; and the realisation of the Sunshine Precinct Masterplan which will Sunshine transformed into a CBD, vastly increasing local jobs, housing, businesses, services and tourism to provide for the many tens of thousands of people living, working and travelling through the Brimbank.

We are currently seeking a Fixed Term Full Time staff member to join our team on a 2 year contract based at our offices in Sunshine .

The role

Reporting to the Manager Capital Works & Building Program, we are seeking a Project Officer – Buildings and Sustainability Projects to contribute to Brimbank’s Climate Emergency Strategy goals and help shape a greener, more resilient community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio, including community batteries, solar systems, fleet electrification, de-gasification, landfill rehabilitation, and sustainable urban design projects and building projects.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of projects, supervise contractors, manage budgets, and provide expert advice across the organisation. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills are essential

To be considered you will have:

  • Local government experience is desirable
  • Highly developed project management skills, and ability to plan and deliver projects and programs, particularly Environmental type projects, on time and within budget allocations.
  • Proven ability to work independently and/or as part of a work team.
