About the role

The purpose of this Management Accountant role is to be responsible for the consolidation of Australia results and reporting to Corporate. Responsibilities include the co-ordination and consolidation of the budget and forecasting processes. The role has a number of monthly tasks and duties including managing the capital spend process and maintaining lease accounting, but the role isn’t only task based and often performs ad hoc analysis and reporting. The role is the control owner for a number of SOX procedures. Confidentiality and trust are essential attributes as this role has access to confidential financial and employee data.

Specific duties include:

  • ERP Admin – Opening, closing and creating of dimensions.

  • Manage the Capital process – ensuring authorization process is followed and paperwork is sufficient.

  • Create and maintain D365 asset records – manage additions, disposals and depreciation.

  • Balance Sheet reconciliations – including Fixed Assets, Capital WIP, Lease Accounting.

  • SOX – control owner for fixed asset and lease procedures.

  • Review of monthly results, SGA allocations and issuing of monthly financials.

  • Forecasting – Compile various monthly forecasts, actual to forecast comparisons with profitability notes.

  • SOX – review customer limit changes.

  • Budgeting – Compile annual, long term and rolling budgets through templates and Cognos/One Stream/Power BI.

  • Processing of journals as required.

  • Report on Product vs Service revenue and Capital spending.

  • Lease Controller – manage process and approvals for new leases, maintain lease controller entries.

  • Assist with month-end closing and ongoing queries.

  • Assist the Finance Team from time to time with ad hoc requests e.g., cost out initiatives, feasibility studies, forecasting of specific programs etc.

About you

  • You will be an enthusiastic individual that is a team player, a self-starter with a strong work ethic.

  • You can actively demonstrate the ability of effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Great numerical and analytical skills with accurate attention to detail.

  • Strong internal and external customer service and communication skills.

  • You have well-developed computer skills - particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • Ability to work under pressure & achieve work deadlines.

  • Good interpersonal skills to coordinate with seniors, peers and national staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • CA /CPA or degree in accounting studying towards a professional accreditation.

  • At least 4 years’ experience Finance experience preferably in a similar Management Accounting type role.

  • SOX experience preferable.

  • ERP system knowledge - Microsoft Dynamics D365 experience would be an advantage.

  • Reporting packages - Cognos/OneStream/Power BI knowledge preferable.

  • Ability to work under pressure & achieve work deadlines.
