Coles Group is leading one of the most ambitious and high-impact digital transformations in Australian retail history.
Project Skyline is a multi-year, enterprise-scale eCommerce re-platforming initiative that will:
- Replace Coles’ legacy monolithic eCommerce stack with a modern, composable platform .
- Deliver a seamless omnichannel experience across loyalty, fulfilment, payments, and customer support.
- Partner with Flipkart Commerce Cloud (FCC) , marking the first major FCC implementation of its kind in Australia.

The Role: Lead Business Analyst
As the Lead Business Analyst , you will play a critical role in defining the functional scope, mapping current/future-state processes, and acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams across this complex, multi-vendor program.
You will lead a team of BAs across several workstreams and ensure consistency and quality in analysis, documentation, and stakeholder alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis across multiple digital and eCommerce workstreams.
- Define and document business requirements, user stories, and process flows .
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders across Digital, Technology, and Business.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Designers, Architects, and FCC teams (onshore and offshore).
- Support end-to-end traceability from requirements through to testing and delivery.
- Ensure consistency and quality of BA outputs across the program.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Have Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst on large-scale digital or eCommerce programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills across business and technology domains.
- Experience in agile delivery environments, including backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, matrixed organisations with multiple vendor teams.
- Excellent documentation, modelling, and communication skills.
Highly Valued:
- Experience in retail, grocery, FMCG, or omnichannel platforms.
- Exposure to offshore delivery models or third-party platforms like FCC, Salesforce, Magento, Hybris.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring other BAs in a program setting.
Engagement Details
- Contract: Initial 6-month day rate contract, with strong potential for extension or permanent hire
- Hybrid Working: 3 days per week onsite in Melbourne, remainder remote
- Start Date: ASAP preferred (within 2–4 weeks)
- Work Rights: Must have full Australian working rights
