Description:

  • Prepare accurate financial reports and statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support organisational goals.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end processes.
  • Manage compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to aid decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address financial queries.
  • Support the implementation of systems and process improvements within the finance function.
  • Financial Management & Reporting- Lead financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting; ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic insights across the company and related entities.
  • Taxation & Compliance: Oversee tax matters including BAS, FBT, and ACNC reporting; ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory frameworks, and support audits.
  • Systems & Risk Management. Maintain financial systems, strengthen internal controls, assess and mitigate financial risks, and oversee bank accounts, investments, and payroll-related processes.

Requirements:

A successful Senior Financial Accountant should have:

  • Professional CA or CPA qualification.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Previous experience within the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
