We’re seeking a Senior HV Design Engineer to provide end-to-end technical leadership on utility-scale solar and BESS projects—shaping designs, ensuring grid compliance, and mentoring engineering teams. This role offers real ownership, technical challenge, and regional influence.

What You’ll Do

• Lead comprehensive HV, MV, and LV system design for solar PV and BESS projects
• Prepare detailed substation layouts, protection and control schemes, and equipment specifications
• Undertake grid connection applications and studies—liaising with AEMO, DNSPs, and TNSPs
• Validate power system studies : short circuit, load flow, protection coordination, and reactive power
• Support procurement, construction, and commissioning teams with technical guidance
• Mentor junior engineers and drive improvements in design standards and processes

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (required) with 7+ years in HV design for utility-scale renewable projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and power system analysis tools (PowerFactory, ETAP, PSSE, PSCAD)
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards (NER, AS / NZS, IEEE) and grid integration requirements
• Experience in SCADA, protection systems, and high-voltage communication infrastructure
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a mentoring mindset
