Your new organisation
The Audit Office of South Australia strives to assist the South Australian public sector to operate to the highest levels of accountability and integrity. We provide timely, relevant information to Parliament on the performance and accountability of government agencies and local government from our audits, reviews, and examinations.
The Performance Audit Branch looks at how well government services, programs and projects are being managed. We review important citizen focussed areas and help government agencies improve their processes to deliver better outcomes to the South Australian community. Our work is reported to Parliament to keep everyone informed and the public sector accountable.
Your new role
As a Deputy Performance Audit Manager you will:
- plan, conduct and report on performance audits
- evaluate government operations using analytical and audit methods
- lead or support performance audits and draft clear, evidence-backed reports
- provide insights and recommendations to improve government functions and processes
- work with internal teams, experts, and stakeholders to meet work goals
- mentor junior staff and contribute to evolving work practices.
What you’ll need to succeed
- A curious mindset and critical thinking skills.
- Experience in undertaking research, collating and presenting analysis.
- Experience in preparing reports and making recommendations for improvement.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- A tertiary qualification in an appropriate analytic discipline such as business, economics, law, public policy or social science would be desirable.
Specific requirements
Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent residency at the time of applying.
