The key duties of the position include:
The Expeditioner – Environmental Remediation Specialist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team environmental scientists and engineers in support of two Australian Antarctic Science projects: Reducing Environmental Impacts at Contaminated Sites in Antarctic (AAS #4503) and A Cleaner Antarctica (AAS #4622) within the Environmental Stewardship Program (Science Branch).
These projects undertake on-site assessment, remediation and monitoring of human impacts in Antarctica (primarily contamination) while also leading the Australian Antarctic Science Program’s scientific effort in contaminated site investigations contaminant
risk assessments and remediation research.
Preference will be given to those applicants holding an approved engineering or science degree relevant to polar environmental remediation and site assessment and/or highly relevant technical skills.
