How you would fit into our team:
Functional Therapy Co' is seeking a warm and compassionate Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our small but experienced OT/SP team in North Perth, WA. As a Speech Pathologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, evidence-based speech and language therapy services to our diverse private/NDIS Paediatric participants across the Perth metro area. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity, offering a lower than industry standard billable expectation so that you can maintain work/life balance and above award remuneration.
Your role as a Speech Pathologist at Functional Therapy:

Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify clients' speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs.

Developing and implementing individualised and inclusive treatment plans to support clients and family identified goals and needs

Provide one-on-one intervention and group therapy sessions to our Paediatric clients to reach their desired language, communication, and oral-motor goals.

Collaborating with other stakeholder and healthcare professionals in the private/NDIS space such as teachers/educators, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, support coordinators and support workers to provide holistic client centred care.

Maintaining detailed client records and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures

Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices in Speech Pathology

Intervention area(s): pre-language/play, language, literacy, speech sound disorders (articulation, phonological, stuttering), pragmatics and oral-motor.
Essential Criteria:
-
A recognised degree or postgraduate qualification in Speech Pathology

Registration with the Speech Pathology Australia

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Pathologist preferably with a focus on paediatric speech and language disorders

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients, their families, and key stakeholders

Strong written communication for initial assessment reports and review reports

Ability to work within a hybrid service delivery model in clinic, telehealth, and mobile-based.

Familiarity with evidence-based practice and the ability to apply research to clinical decision-making
Preferred:
-
Experience in the NDIS space

Neurodivergent therapists or therapists with lived experience of neurodivergence
-
Comprehensive understanding or willingness to engage in professional development to increase understanding of neurodivergence, neuroaffirming practices/approaches, and Gestalt Language Processing.
