As a result of our continued growth and over $1 billion of work-in-hand, Georgiou is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our building team on the Fiona Stanley Hospital Western Car Park project. The new six story carpark located within the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct; is the first of two multi-deck car parks being constructed to support Fiona Stanley Hospital and the new Women and Babies Hospital.
The successful candidate will display strong technical skills in all elements of civil engineering particularly within a commercial building environment. We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer with a broad range of building experience that relates to multistorey buildings, including building fit out and finishing's as well as services within building.
You will be trusted to:
* Work with the delivery team, by managing interphase with multiple trades, suppliers and subcontractor through design, fabrication and construction to expedite progress on the project.
* Prepare short term look ahead programs, and provides input into the project schedule, status of works and reporting requirements
* Maintain and update the contract program, including productivity and ensuring the timely identification of any critical activities, potential delays, and the mitigation of it.
* Monitor and review the project task financial outcomes, including overseeing project monthly forecasting and short-term cost controls to ensure project targets are optimised
* Provide daily support, team supervision and feedback to field operations to produce high-quality project outcomes against company set performance criteria
* Supervise the daily contract administration requirements and collaborate in the negotiation and control of subcontractor and supply agreements
* Attend to the scope of work assigned with defined work methods and deliver the work in accordance with total project schedule
* Coordinate and manage technical queries from suppliers, subcontractors and design consultants to optimisation design where feasible and prevent clashes.
* Participate in site meetings (toolboxes, pre-start, inductions and other health and safety requirements) and have a strong focus on personal and team safety through our "Safety is My Way" initiative
* Ensuring specifications are met and relevant quality control processes are met throughout the construction, close out and commissioning.
What you're good at:
* People - personable, demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Engineer in a similar role within the commercial construction industry, overseeing a project or an assigned section of a project with experience leading a team of engineers (SP's / SE's).
* Planning - Developing and maintaining project schedules in Primavera / Primavera Cloud. Including ownership of the project Delivery Programme including undertaking regular status reviews and reporting on project progress.
* Contractors - experience leading resolution of design and design related queries, being the link between consultants and contractors. Establishing process for obtaining contractors quality and handover deliverables.
* Design - reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and specifications including contribution to development of the subcontractor scopes. Build rapport with consultant team, develop / workshop solutions to queries in collaboration with designers for implementation.
* Quality - Leading implementation of a project quality management system; lot planning, ITP development / review, etc.
* Services - A solid grasp of services, including coordination, installation, and commissioning.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills which enable you to assist in resolution of client and key stakeholders concerns
* Able to demonstrate daily productivity and cost control skills and prior forecasting experience
* Experience in coordinating and/or running tool box meetings, pre-start meetings, site inductions and a demonstrated commitment to HSEQ practices
* Sound working knowledge of building works and services
* Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree
