THE ORGANISATION
Established and iconic Melbourne-based Community Services business with corporate headquarters in the northern suburbs.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the HR Manager, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of an in-house fortnightly payroll of approximately 300 predominantly salaried employees including:
  • Advising management and staff with the interpretation of Awards, the EBA, relevant legislation, HR procedures, payroll queries and Superannuation
  • Production and distribution of standard and ad hoc payroll reports (Annual Leave, RDO’s for example) for the Senior Management Team
  • Calculating and processing terminations, salary adjustments, Higher Duties and other employee changes ensuring data integrity
  • Conducting end of financial year activities and associated reconciliations

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
The position is Part-time offering a lot of flexibility around the days you work (you can choose) and/or the hours you work (you can spread the 4 days over 5 so have the flexibility of school drop-offs/pick-ups). The role could be close to home and offers free, secure onsite parking if you drive or a tram and train stop at the office front door if you prefer Public Transport.
There is also more than one person in the wider HR Management/Operations team who can process the Payroll so if you get sick, or fancy Bali for a couple of weeks, you can do so knowing your team has got your back.

Previous experience in a standalone position would be the preference however applicants with team-based experience, but seeking an autonomous role or the flexibility on offer, are welcome to apply. Solid examples of process improvement and/or efficiency and streamlining initiatives driven by you will guarantee an interview.
