Role SummaryAs part of our strategic expansion into NSW, VIC, QLD and NT public sectors, we are seeking a seasoned Recruitment Consultant or Senior Recruitment Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in sourcing, engaging, and building relationships with government agencies, and at the same time recruiting top-tier temporary/contingent professionals for non-executive to executive positions across various sectors. This role offers a unique two-fold opportunity.
First, you will be heavily involved in temporary/contractor recruitment delivery to continue growing the warm desk in our state government sectors. This will include servicing our existing clients, identifying new client opportunities, crafting tailored recruitment strategies, and establishing long-term partnerships. You will be supported by 2-3 junior staff members, providing mentorship and support, while driving business growth and performance. This role is perfect for a highly motivated consultant looking to make a significant impact on government recruitment, client acquisition, placement delivery and team development under the following categories: A - Administration B - Finance C - Specialist D - Industrial G - ICT Network H - ICT management, implementation and support I - ICT Applications, databases and systems.
Second, you will assist with an existing client portfolio and manage a warm desk focused on permanent recruitment within commercial companies. You will be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with current clients, ensuring high-quality recruitment solutions aligned with their needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the entire recruitment process—briefing, sourcing, screening, interviewing, conducting capability-based assessments, presenting candidates to clients, conducting follow-ups, resolving issues, and managing job offers.Build and maintain a robust talent pipeline through advanced networking and relationship management skills to ensure access to top talent for future opportunities.Lead and manage a recruitment team, ensuring they meet performance targets while providing mentorship, support, and development opportunities.Manage and update candidate and client records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring accuracy, compliance with data protection regulations, and seamless client interactions.Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, changes, and opportunities, informing both recruitment and business development strategies.Promote diversity and inclusion within recruitment processes, fostering a company culture that values varied perspectives and equal opportunities.Develop and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing clients to drive business growth, focusing on identifying new business opportunities in the public and private sectors.Proactively understand and analyse clients' needs for open vacancies to ensure precise alignment of job specifications with organisational goals and culture.Leverage strong relationships with government agencies and familiarity with E-Tendering Platforms, RFQ, RFT, MSP, WH&S, Government Compliance, and Procurement processes to secure new contracts and maintain ongoing client engagements.Lead business development initiatives by identifying potential clients, conducting outreach, and delivering tailored recruitment solutions to meet diverse client needs.Actively engage with candidates to understand career aspirations, acting as a trusted career advisor while fostering long-term candidate relationships.
Minimum Experience1–3 years of recruitment agency experience in a high-performance, client-focused environmentProven experience in contract and temporary recruitment across commercial and public sectors, with exposure to executive searchMust have hands-on experience in blue-collar recruitmentExtensive experience in government recruitment, including knowledge of frameworks such as SCM0007 (Contingent Workforce), TAS (SCM0012 & SCM0020), QLD Local Government, and Federal Government recruitment, with strong understanding of MSP delivery models, WH&S, compliance, and procurement processesDemonstrated success in driving performance and delivering strong hiring outcomesFamiliarity with vendor management systems such as Beeline, Coupa, and FieldglassStrong business development capabilities with a proven ability to meet or exceed hiring targets while expanding the client baseSkilled in client negotiations, with a resilient mindset and focus on developing long-term relationshipsExcellent organisational and time management skills – able to manage multiple roles and competing prioritiesStrong communication and interpersonal skills – confident in engaging with candidates, hiring managers, and stakeholdersHigh emotional intelligence (EQ) – builds rapport quickly and handles sensitive conversations with professionalismRelevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline
Preferred ExperienceExposure to recruitment in white collar sectors.Demonstrated consultative approach, with the ability to accept and act on feedback.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex hiring and business development landscapes.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, similar to a startup.
