Description:

Haynes is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and community-focused Compliance Officers to join our dedicated team. In this important role, you will promote and enforce compliance with Local Laws and other relevant legislation to help protect the safety, wellbeing, and amenity of our communities. Your duties will include conducting inspections and investigations and providing clear, practical advice to support voluntary compliance through education and enforcement.

Position Details

  • Monday to Friday roster
  • 38 hours per week
  • Contract or Permanent opportunities available
  • Competitive rates on offer

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and investigations relating to Local Laws, environmental health, animal management, and other compliance areas.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to the community, stakeholders, and internal teams on regulatory matters.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and correspondence in line with Council's policies and legislation.
  • Apply sound judgement in risk assessments and escalate matters appropriately.
  • Represent Council professionally in community engagement and enforcement activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Current Open Class QLD drivers' licence and reliable transport
  • Strong knowledge of Local Government legislation and compliance processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation and apply compliance strategies with fairness and integrity.
  • Sound investigation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality service to the community.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical including Drug/Alcohol screen
