As a Household Facilitator based at our Brendale site, you will support our team to provide high quality in home and community access support with activities and services to people with disabilities living in 24-hour Supported Independent Living arrangements and individual clients.
This role would suit someone with some experience of managing teams and with a passion for helping people live their best life. There is plenty of support for you on-site from our friendly senior team.
What would I be doing?
- Supporting our team of DSWs to encourage individuals in a positive manner to make choices and participate in decisions about their daily lives.
- Assist clients to manage their household by supporting staff with household duties, shopping and bill paying etc.
- Coordination of support to access medical and similar appointments.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the direct support team.
- Assist with recruitment, training and performance management.
- Maintain systems of recording and reporting (roster, incident reporting & investigation)
- Monitor all day-to-day activities of the household.
- Provide timely information and reports as required.
Requirements include:
- Support worker experience within the disability sector is essential.
- Previous experience in team leadership or a strong desire to take your next career step in a leadership role.
- The ability to use various mobility aids, administer medications, provide personal care and individualised support to our clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check prior to starting.
