Description:
This role will primarily help plan and deliver significant, high-profile projects as part of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) capital works and infrastructure maintenance programs. This position provides a range of Project Management services to ensure a consistent and high standard approach to asset management within protected area and forest management. You will work closely with other managers and staff within Asset Services and Regions/Branches.

As the Senior Project Officer, you will:
• Lead and participate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, deliver and review projects within the regional Capital Works program.
• Actively manage projects including the planning, delivery and reporting of work schedules, milestones, budget and expenditure.
• Research and analyse information, and prepare and or coordinate, review and progress briefing notes, project plans, correspondence, reports, briefings and submissions regarding the development, progress and delivery of the project.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders as required, including DES, state and local governments, Traditional Owners and their
representative bodies, the tourism industry and special interest groups to achieve good outcomes
• Ensure project compliance with legislation, government approvals, specification, and DES policies and procedures, including environmental protection, Work Health and Safety and relevant licences.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.
