The Opportunity
Austal is currently looking for a Painter Blaster. They will assist with general labouring, preparation, and cleaning tasks within a shipyard environment. Austal is looking to grow its paint & blast team and will provide full training.
What’s involved
- Assist the Painters/Blasters with sanding, painting, and blasting.
- Confined space entry sentry and fire sentry duties.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment with an aim to minimise waste in all forms.
- Hold self and workmates accountable to high safety standards.
You’ll need
- Ability to use general tools safely.
- Trade certified or experienced in industrial painting/blasting.
- White Card.
- Previous painting or blasting experience is desirable.
- Pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening required as part of onboarding.
- Strong safety focus.
