The Role
In this project role, you will lead the delivery of Reconstruction of Essential Public Assets program of works from the December 2023 / January 2024 flood event. Flood recovery is focussed on our rural roads particularly unsealed roads and rural drainage.
In this varied role, you will:
- Lead and manage a team of two Technical Officers to undertake flood recovery works
- Prepare and implement works program through the engagement of internal Maintenance Teams and external contractors
- Deliver the recovery works program to a standard and stage where flood recovery work can be incorporated into the ongoing maintenance program
- Manage the budget for flood recovery works and report on physical and financial progress in achieving agreed final works
- Prepare and submit the funding claim for approved works in accordance with funding timelines
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Skills, knowledge and/or qualifications in civil construction such as drainage work, bulk excavation, crushed rock pavements, general construction or general maintenance work
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements and environmental management techniques
- Relevant skills and experience in team leadership
- The ability to plan and execute works within a program and budget with strong record keeping and computer skills
- Good communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment
A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
