This exciting part-time opportunity with The Flagstaff Group’s People & Culture team offers exposure to various aspects of HR and WHS ; including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, internal communications, and health and safety initiatives. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a foundation in the HR and safety space with a keen focus on administration and document management .

You’ll work under the guidance of both the HR Manager and WHS Lead, gaining valuable experience in a supportive and purpose-driven organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an admin assistant you’ll get involved across both the HR and Safety spaces. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support including creating employee profiles, coordinating new starter details with our payroll and updating internal trackers.
  • Assisting with recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Attending and capturing minutes at monthly Workers Representative meetings
  • Designing awareness posters and supporting internal communication campaigns—perfect to grow your creative skills
  • Supporting initiatives like annual flu shots and other staff wellbeing programs
  • Coordinating and transporting staff and/or clients to medical appointments and relevant safety checks
  • Participating in employee engagement and culture-building activities including weekly and monthly rewards and recognition initiatives
  • Supporting WHS and HR teams in compliance, recordkeeping, and continuous improvement
  • Travelling to our sites in Nowra and Macarthur as required

Who We’re Looking For

  • Currently undertaking (or recently completed) a qualification in Business administration, Human Resources, Work Health & Safety, or a related field
  • Confident communicator with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence learning new systems
  • High attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Must hold a valid Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, and Police Check
