About the project
DCOH has been engaged to deliver the proposed new Civic Centre project, a transformative $150 million development designed to reflect Darwin's cultural heritage and meet its growing needs.

Large Scale, PCA A Grade Project
The $150 million civic centre project offers significant opportunities for hands-on experience in delivering a 21 storey premium PCA A Grade commercial building right in the heart of the city.
Diverse and Multifaceted Scope
The project encompasses a variety of functional spaces, including customer services, council chambers, office areas, and a public plaza, alongside operational elements like carparking and building infrastructure.

With construction expected to create over 500 jobs and designs honouring Galamarrma, the Tree of Knowledge, this project aligns with principles of sustainable development and cultural respect.
WHO YOU ARE
You’re a seasoned construction leader who thrives on fast-paced, large-scale projects. You lead confidently, solve problems quickly, and keep teams focused on safety, quality, and project timelines.
- You bring experience leading large-scale commercial construction projects.
- You’re confident managing teams, subcontractors, and daily site operations.
- You have strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and compliance.
- You solve problems quickly and keep projects on track.
- You communicate clearly and work well with all stakeholders.
- You’re organised, reliable, and committed to quality outcomes.
- You’re proficient with construction software and other relevant office tools.
- You hold trade or tertiary qualifications in construction or a related field.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the build progresses safely, efficiently, and in alignment with DCOH’s standards and will be performing the following duties but not limited to:
- Oversee all day-to-day site activity, ensuring smooth and safe coordination of contractors, resources, and trades
- Monitor construction progress, resolve site issues, and maintain alignment with the project timeline
- Uphold and enforce HSEQ requirements, ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Manage and mitigate risks on-site, including delays, disputes, and technical challenges
- Lead subcontractor scheduling and performance management, ensuring efficient workflows
- Provide clear, consistent updates on project status, milestones, and site developments to senior management
- Maintain site records and documentation relating to work completed, materials, and issues
- Drive a positive site culture that values accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Mentor and lead site personnel, supporting high performance across all trades and contractors
- Represent DCOH professionally when dealing with clients, consultants, and external stakeholders
