  • 12-month fixed term position
  • Full time (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Research Nurse Level 2 (YU13) or Medical Scientist Grade 2 Year 1 (RY4) to equivalent pay rate

The Department

The Medical Oncology Unit provides coordinated multidisciplinary management for adult patients with malignancies. An important component of this care are the Clinical Trial/Research activities we participate in, which enable us to offer forthcoming investigational treatments to our patients.

The Role

  • Have responsibility for the coordination and management of clinical studies including:
    • The trial related care of patients
    • Related clinical trial data
    • Regulatory management
  • Ensure all clinical trials are performed in accordance with the study protocol and in line with the regulatory, ethical and legal requirements outlined by the ICH-GCP, TGA, Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (CPMP/ICH/135/95), the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, and the applicable state/federal privacy laws and institutional policies.
  • Contribute to strategies to improve performance aligned with international best practice standards and departments expectations, in conjunction with the team leader.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Austraila via AHPRA
  • Knowledge of key concepts of Cancer Biology
  • Understanding of clinical medical terminology
  • Current GCP certification and understanding of GCP principles
  • Ability to travel for investigator meetings as required
