Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. It also services our personal and institutional online trading customers.
BB Digital is accountable for delivering a seamless customer experience across our business banking digital channels including CommBiz Web, Mobile and CommBank app. A vision to be the undisputed leader in digital business banking, there is an exciting delivery roadmap ahead enhancing both design and technology of these digital platforms. You’ll play an integral role in our ongoing commitment to deliver better customer experience and outcomes via effective risk management.
The BB Digital Line 1 Risk team is a dedicated team of risk professionals supporting BB Digital to ensure to ensure effective oversight, governance and management of risks, compliance obligations and controls. This role will report to the Chapter Lead Digital Non Financial Risk.
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Manager to join BB Digital Line 1 Risk team. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders fostering a proactive risk and control culture that anticipates and responds to changes in the risk landscape, provide strategic advice, and enable the business to operate confidently within risk appetite. This is a highly collaborative role that supports the execution of business strategy while embedding strong risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities

Proactively detect and anticipate responses to changes in the internal and external risk landscape that may impact the business risk profile.

Advise and enable senior stakeholders to manage their risk, compliance obligations and business operations within risk appetite.

Partner and advise the business on issues, near misses and emerging risks or threats to resilience, including opportunities to enhance the design and resiliency of business processes and compliance.

Leverage business expertise and insights to make recommendations to business partners on prioritisation of investments, interventions and enhancements to mitigate risk.

Design and implementation of controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes. This includes proactively identify opportunities to enhance the design and resiliency of business processes and controls through continuous improvements.

Advocate for and advise the business on using appropriate tools, practices and frameworks to enable execution of risk reduction and proactive risk management.

Provide insightful business intelligence to accountable owners, governing forums and committees, to create transparency of risk outcomes.

Partner with the business to coach and drive behaviours to enable self-reliant risk management and compliance obligations.
We're interested in people who have:

Experience in financial services sector and / or data and technology

Advanced understanding and demonstrated competence of risk and compliance management policies and frameworks with exposure to data and technology risks preferred.

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential critical threats and opportunities, via data driven insights to take action to resolve accordingly.

Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to challenge the status quo whilst balancing the needs of various stakeholders.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
