About The Division
The Resilience and Recovery Division provides leadership, direction and advice to agencies and stakeholders to ensure Queensland's disaster recovery and resilience policies and programs reduce risk, increase resilience and improve preparedness for disasters.
About The Team
The Policy and Program Design team are responsible for delivering actions to improve the resilience of Queensland communities and facilitate locally led disaster recovery, coordinate Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) extraordinary funding packages and resilience funding programs, and help communities prepare for and recover from disasters.
About The Role
- Provide expert advice on Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) activation processes and complex DRFA Category C and D eligibility queries.
- Support the identification of DRFA eligible disaster impacts during response and recovery to inform DRFA activations, recovery action planning and state-wide exceptional package requirements.
- Support internal and external stakeholders on DRFA exceptional package design.
- Provide executive support to key committees and develop timely and well written activation and policy business cases, briefing notes and supporting documentation.
- Deliver effective internal and external stakeholder consultation, support and advice before, during and after disaster activations.
- Follow and maintain the evolution of established procedures and processes and ensure decisions and actions are ethical, well-documented, justifiable, and transparent.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of program design strategies to meet stakeholder expectations of timely and high-quality program administration outcomes.
- Represent QRA at stakeholder meetings and events with relevant industry and community organisations and incorporate learnings into team and divisional planning.
- Lead and model highly collaborative internal relationships through the sharing of knowledge, experience and reflections as part of a wider team of multi-disciplinary specialists.
- Undertake related projects and other duties of equivalent complexity as required.
- This role reports to the Manager, Recovery Programs.
